Meanwhile, Andheri is a river, the veins of Tadoba forest. The Tadoba National Park and Andheri wildlife sanctuary are collectively known as “Tadoba Andheri Tiger reserve”. Tadoba is the name of the deity worshipped by tribal people who live in the dense forests of Tadoba and the Andheri region.

It is the perfect habitat for Tigers and other mammals including,

• Gaur
• Nilgai
• Dhole
• Striped Hyena
• Indian civet

This national park is unique and famous for the “Royal Bengal Tiger”.  The southwest of the park has a stunning huge lake. The park is also famous for gorgeous dry deciduous trees and hence overall this park is also called as the “Land of Tigers”.

It also consists of Black plum, Axle wood, and Bamboo. This Tadoba national park is the southern tropical dry deciduous forest and it includes eighty-seven per cent of the protected area. Maharashtra’s forest department is guarding and controlling this park. Once, the rare Black Panther is spotted in this park. In general, Black panthers are melanistic and found in evergreen forests, like Eastern Ghats, it is idiosyncratic to be found in the dry deciduous forests of Tadoba.

The Tadoba national park authorities strictly restrict people’s activities such as hunting, grazing, poaching, and forestry. It has greater possibilities of spotting a variety of animals, including the big cats!
